Increasingly, men are choosing to have cosmetic treatments here in Los Gatos, California and nationwide. This is not due to an increase in vanity, but a better understanding of the options available to enhance one’s own sense of comfort and confidence in the workplace or in public. Natural-looking improvements, both surgical and/or non-surgical, give men a refreshed appearance, allowing them to feel and look younger and be noticed for the right reasons.
Three common categories of procedures we perform on men are Facial Rejuvenation/Contouring, Rhinoplasty and Hair Restoration.
Facial Rejuvenation can be further categorized into non-surgical and surgical.
Non-surgical Facial Rejuvenation in men includes the use of 1) neuromodulators, such as Botox Cosmetic and Dysport, to improve wrinkle lines and smoothen skin, 2) fillers, such as Juvederm and Restylane products, to volumize the face, soften deep folds and restore a youthful contour and 3) PRP skin treatments, to improve the tone, texture and color of the skin.
Surgical Facial Rejuvenation in men includes treatment of the brows and eyelids through lifting procedures (Endoscopic Browlift) or removal of excess skin and fat (Upper Blepharoplasty, Lower Blepharoplasty), volume restoration (Facial Fat Transfer) and lower face and neck enhancements (Lower Facelift, Limited Incision Lower Facelift, Necklift). Chin augmentation is an incredibly high-yield, office-based procedure to enhance and further define weak chins and improve chin and neck definition in men.
Rhinoplasty involves reshaping the nose. Often times, even small changes in the shape of the nose can result in dramatic improvements in the overall appearance of the face. Rhinoplasty can be performed to improve the appearance of the nose following nasal injuries/trauma or to address features that impart an unattractive or distracting look to the nose. Many patients will also opt for internal nasal surgery (to address deviated septums, enlarged turbinates and/or weak internal nasal valve support) in the same setting as Rhinoplasty to correct nasal obstruction, improve snoring and/or compliance with their CPAP machine for obstructive sleep apnea.
Hair restoration procedures range from topical, oral and injectable (PRP Scalp) therapies, which minimize progression of hair loss and reverse the natural miniaturization/thinning process of hair, to follicular unit extraction hair transplantation with Neograft 2.0, a revolutionary and minimally-invasive approach to restore hair growth and density in areas of thinning and baldness with little discomfort, imperceptible scarring and rapid recovery.
